The RIF Guide to the National Book Program was designed to support RIF program coordinators and other RIF volunteers as they plan, administer, and implement RIF National Book programs for the benefit of children and families nationwide. The website contains basic information needed to run a National Book Program and to be used in conjunction with other RIF resources such as the RIF Handbook, regional program specialists, RIFNet and RIF's distance-learning initiative.
The Guide contains video clips of RIF volunteers and professionals who provide advice and "lessons learned" as well as links to online resources, forms and tools. It can be accessed on CD-ROM or via the Web. If users have the CD-ROM and Internet access, they then have the option of streaming video from the Web site or playing the video from the CD-ROM. The CD-ROM playback provides a visual experience of much higher quality.
